Could Contraction In Neck Muscles Be The Symptom Of Anxiety?

I have occasional muscle tension in the front of my neck. When I look up I can feel the muscles feel right and contracted. It is very aggravating and sometimes feels as if I am having some difficulty swallowing. It seems to be the worst right at the base of my neck in between my collar bones. I have had an ENT laryngoscope done and he said I have some signs of gerd, but that s it. I do suffer from anxiety but don t understand why I am constantly plagued by this awful feeling. Any idea what it may be? Is this a common symptom of anxiety?
