Could Dark Itchy Patches On The Face Be Due To Herpes?

sure, after having a very stressful encounter, my daughter broke out on her face with dark areas that are not itchy, but it burns very badly and bothers to the touch even to put cool water on it. She went to hospital and they gave her penicillin, off the counter fungal cream to put on along with neosporin. She feel absolutely awful around people. Someone told her after they looked up on computer that it may be herpes.
