Could Delayed Periods Be Due To Pregnancy?

i supposed to go back for my depo shot nov.27- dec. 8. i didnt go back to recieve the second shot. I know i started my period around that same time. I have not started for the month of jan. i took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. could i be pregnate or am im over reacting??
