Could Difficulty In Speaking Be Due Over Dosage Of Pain Medications?

Mom in hospital due to knee surgery. Was to leave today (has only one kidney btw) but now was administered full dose of pain meds -was only getting half with no pain. Now she s barely able to speak etc. Should we be worried especially due to one kidney?
