Could Elevated Blood Pressure Be Due To Anxiety?

I have been prescribed 40mg citalopram for 4 years. I have gone cold turkey so to speak , I don't want to feel numb any more . I've had nausea, brain zaps and saw my gp today. Suffice to say they weren't happy with my choice but my bp was 193/103. I do feel anxious is this why it's high ? Temp etc normal
