Could Excessive Scratching In Head Be Due To Dandruff?

For some reason for a few years now when I'm asleep I scratch my head and I mean it doesn't seem like I scratch it deep. Sometimes I've woken up scratching. Could be the dandruff but I've been using head&shoulders every day since a kid and my head doesn't scratch usually.
