Could Fluctuation In Body Temperature Be Due To Enlarged Tonsils?

55 yr old lady Intermittent fever for more than 4 weeks . no other findings.. except enlarged tonsils.. LFT , RFT TFT Chest X Ray all normal.. abx started empirically for UTI and tonsillitis. .waxing and waning course of fever comes down fluctuating from 98.8 to 99.9.. first it used to be till 101. Pt now complains of significant weakness all over body esp lower limbs. Pt is diabetic for past 8 months and has h/o varicose veins. Also.. sir you help me out through the diagnosis of this vague scenario of symptoms. .pt is my mother.
