Could Heavy Periods Be Due To Norplant Implant Or Ovarian Cysts?

I had the Norplant for five years! Got it in. 1992 was taken out 1997. My periods were always irregular during that time.Had a baby in 2004 was told iI had cysts on my ovaries! Now and for the last few years my periods are very heavy the first three to four days! I use the super tampons and use at least 10 a day on those days! Could my heavy periods be from the Norplant or the cysts? And what can I do about my heavy bothersome periods? I just been living with them and I stay close to a restroom for at least the first two or three days every cycle!
