Could Hot Flashes And Excessive Sweating Be Due To Being On Hormones?

I am a 69 year old female. I had hysterectomy 25 years ago. I have been on hormones most of the time since. The last 6 months or so, I have been having sever hot "flashes" only during the day, they only last a few minutes but sometimes I am completely drenched from sweating so. Why am I still having these problems?
