Could Hot Flashes Be Due To Sloniacin In A Diabetic?

my husband is 63 years old he is on medications for his heart and diabeties . his diabetic doctor recently put him on slo niacin.yesterday it jumped out of bed saying his skin was on fire,could not wear clothes or have anything touching him. this lasted all day. there is no rash or swelling or bumps or leisions,could this be a reaction to the slo niacin?
