Could Hypothyroidism Have Been Caused By Taking Gabapentin?

I suspect I might have hypothyroidism due to taking Gabapentin because I ve been gaining weight rapidly with no change whatsoever in my eating habits (other than good changes). If tests determine that my thyroid is functioning low, can the hypothyroidism be treated simultainesouly while taking Gabapentin? I really don t want to stop taking the medication, because it s the only medication that has effectively controlled my seizure without making me feel drugged out.

Hello,

* Gabapentin has no known side effect to alter the thyroid hormone levels and causing hypothyroid status.

The rest of the causes as autoimmune disturbances, anti-thyroid antibodies or else has to be sorted out.

* You can take Gabapentin while on thyroid medications without any ill effect for sure.
