Could Intense Pain In Thumb Be Due To Fracture?

I fell hard on ice today and landed on my hand. It happened about 3 hours ago, swelling is about the same as when it was injured, it s blue in a small area, I cannot move my thumb too much without intense pain. Is this a fracture at all? Is it worth it to go to the ER? Could it just be a big bruise?
