Could Itchy Genitals In Both Partners Post Having Sex Suggest Recurred Infection?

I had sex with my boyfriend on Thursday and we were both fine before it. It want until the next morning that we both noticed our genitals were itchy and uncomfortable. Now it seems we both have a yeast infection. I had one back in October, but I treated it with medical help. Could it be we are passing it back and forward and the infection is still active?
