Could Long Freckle Like Spots On Upper Chest Be Due To Exposure To Sun?

I have over the course of the last few years developed a patch of long freckle like spots on my upper chest area. The area usually exposed to the sun Can you tell me if this is from sun exposure or maybe some other condition? I don't seem have it any where else.
