Could Long Term Use Of Tobacco Cause Severe Pain Behind Lower Rib Cage?

Hello. I am 26 y/o male. I have been using smokeless tobacco for about 13 years. About 6 months ago I had severe pain behind my right lower rib cage. Originally I was told at the ER I had coscocondritis. The pain has eased off somewhat but its still there, some days worse than others. I recently seen my primary Dr and he seems to think its my gallbladder. Could my tobacco use have caused this problem?
