Could Mild Chest Pain Be Related To Heart?

I am experiencing mild chest pains across the middle of my chest. On a couple of other recent occasions lately within the last couple of weeks and again earlier today I had pains in the left side of my chest which went away quickly after I took one regular aspirin. I am concerned that I might be having heart problems, but I don't want to over react. I am a woman 67 years old and my dad died of a heart attack at 66.
