Could Mucus Discharge And Cough After Overeating Indicate Recurring Laryngitis?

I recently had a bout of larygitis in mid December - I visited my GP who suggested that I had virus..the symptoms susided after a week ......then came the holidays and I ate too much at Christmas Dinner (chocolate etc) and lots of left-overs the next night. In the middle of the night i felt nausea as if some of the dinner had gone to my throat - and I vomited a little. I have had a clear but persistent phelm/mucus in my throat since about Dec 27th - lots of throat clearing and a general loss of appetite. Any suggestions? Acid reducers or go back and visit my GP? Being a hypochondriac I always worry about the worst case scenarios.
