Could My Leg Wound From A Weed Eater Cut 10 Days Ago Still Be Infected If It’s Red, Painful, And Not Fully Healed?

I cut my leg with a weed eater 10 days ago. There was a 3 inch impact line with bleeding on about 1 inch on the inside. It is still bruised and has scab over. Where it bled, it is red and it still hurts to walk and while elevating. Could it be infected? I cleaned with soap and applied antibiotic ointment.
