Could My Mood Swings, Fear Of Abandonment, And Behavior Changes Indicate Borderline Personality Disorder?

I’ve recently been having a lot of mood swings and other changes in my behavior. At first many of my friends and other relatives told me that is was just ‘normal’ or that it was just due to anxiety. I have just been told by someone about Borderline Personality Disorder. It’s come to my attention that I have some of the symptoms just as the mood swings, fear of abandonment and rapid changes in my behavior along with some others. I tend to find myself doing bad things just to test it someone really cares about me or will go out their way for me and say some weird things just to see how they would react to it. I struggle to explain how it feels but the closest I got to explain it was me feeling very controlled and ‘hypnotized.’ I find myself feeling like another person, like I am no longer myself and acting completely different towards those I love and care about when these mood changes and other symptoms happen. Does it sound like I may have BPD or could these be symptoms of causes of something else?
