Could Pain Above The Ear Be Due To Irritated Nerve?

Gosh, wasn't expecting this, I was googling about the pain my wife has above her left ear, she attributes it to her glasses. Her GP says a nerve is being irritated by the glasses, she has had them adjusted but the problem persists. She needs her glasses and at the moment has tissue as a padding around the bit that rests above her ear. It seems to help a little but the pain persists.
