Could Pain In Shoulder Blade Be Due To Problem In Rotator Cuff?

I am a 61 year-old female in good health. I exercise moderately but regularly. I am an English teacher, so I spend MANY hours at a desk. I have had shoulder pain (left arm) recently that is especially uncomfortable at night. my range of motion is somewhat diminished. Does this sound like a rotator cuff issue?
