Could Presence Of Carbon In Lungs Be A Critical Condition?

MY FATHER WHO IS 78 YRS. OLD INDIAN. CABG was done in 2006. He has kidney problem also. Nowadays he is facing very critical asthemetic problem. Respiratory system is not good. His critenien is 3.8 and TLC is 19,000/-. There is carbon in his lungs. Is it common? or it is critical situation. He is in ICU.
