Could Red Circular Dry Patch On Foot Be Due To Ring Worm?

I suspect I've got ring worm? I have a single red circular dryish patch on the top of my foot which appeared yesterday. I returned from a weeks holiday in morrocco on 12th February. I've also started with cold symptoms, sore throat, cough, aches, head ach and temperature. My friend took me to a pharmacist who confirmed who said it could be, and sold me some fungal cream.. But tonight I feel really hot,matter being shivery during the day.

Can ringworm make you poorly or us it the flu/cold?
