Could Redness And Itching On Face Be Due Hydrocodone?

my mom had surgery yesterday... she has been taking oxycodone for her pain from a pain clinic for her shoulder. She had back surgery and they prescribed her hydrocodone... her face is all red and very itchy... why does one work for her and the other gives her these side affects?
