Could Severe Pain In Adam's Apple Be Due To Swollen Glands?

I started having a cold but too medicine and it got way better.
Yesterday I started to feel my Adam apple with excruciating pain. I can't even lay down or sniff without it killing me.
I do not have a sore throat at all. I believe my glands are swollen.
What is this pain?
