Could Severe Pain In Back Be Due To Diaphragmatic Paresis?

I had thyroid cancer and lymph node cancer surgery. my pulmonary doctor thinks the phrenic nerve was cut. as I now have diaphragmatic paresis..my doctor is on vacation and I am having pain on my right in my back. is this from the damage to the diaphram
