Could Shortness Of Breath After Infected By Stomach Bug Be Normal?

My spouse has a stomach bug that has been passed around the house this week. We did go to the dr and it is the bug going around. This is the second day and he is having bouts of shortness of breath, nobody else had this issue in the home. Would this merit another trip to the dr, or it the bug just running it s course?
