Could Smoking Be Worsening Leg And Foot Swelling While On A Diuretic And Receiving Antibiotics Through A PICC Line For A Heart Valve Infection?

Hello ,my Dad has a picc Line in his arm for antibiotics needs it for at least six weeks for an infection at one of his heart valves. He recently had TAVR, has A-Fib, CKD, diabetes, an emergency abdominal surgery. Well, I just realized he has started smoking AGAIN and oddly enough his legs and feet are swollen to capacity, His Cardio just put him on a diuretic to help, but smoking…really?
