Could Spotting And Cramps Be Due To Early Menstruation?

My period isn t due until the 6th of feb yesterday I thought I was starting early because when I wiped there was a very small amount of brownish looking blood. The spotting lasted maybe an hour I ve been extremely tired and had horrible cramps going on. Is my period early or is it something else?
