Could Spotting And Dull Cramping Be Due To Elevated Dosage Of Mimvey?

Hi I had been on a very lose dosage of Activella since 2006. Several months ago the drug company changed from Activella to Mimvey (same dosage) with no apparent side effects. However when I saw my doctor in Jan. 2015 she decided to up my dosage of the Mimvey to help with some menopausal symptoms. Now 4 weeks into the increased dosage I ve started spotting and have a dull cramping feeling like when I had my period. My doctor says this should subside; however I had rather take a lower dosage than go back to bleeding. My dosage is 1 mg/0.5 mg. can I cut it half?
