Could Spreading Tongue Pain Be Due To Tobacco Chewing?

I have been chewing tobacco for the last 14 years. I started at the age of 14 and am now 28. For the last two days my tongue has begun to hurt. It is extremely painful at the moment and seems to be spreading all the way around the tongue. It started on the sides, spread to the bottom, and now hurts on top as well. What's up?
