Could Sudden Dizziness, High Pitched Ringing With Vomiting Sensation Mean Vertigo?

So I was in my bathroom last night doing my hair and all of a sudden I got dizzy and could only see blackness, I heard a really loud high pitched ringing.noise in my ears and staggered into my lounge room, I sat down and felt like I was going to vomit. I started to control my breathing and the blackness and ringing went away but then I heard something that sounded like static blasting my ears, after 20 mins it all went away but it scared the hell out of me. I had been standing for 20 minutes before it happened so I didn t think it.could be vertigo?
