Could Taking Medicines For Periods Pain Be Harmful For The Body?

I am 26 year old married, I have been getting period pain from beginning. I take medicines for the pain every month almost. Is taking tablets have side effects later?? Is it bad to take medicines??. Please advice me on getting rid of period pain cant stay without taking medicine
