Could Tenderness In Ear Be Due To Swelling In Parotid Gland?

I think I have an issue with a salivary gland, the paratid, it was swollen about 2 weeks ago but that went away within a couple days. But I still have some tenderness to touch by my ear and that side of my throat/mouth seems dry. Does it take awhile to 'work' thru that or is it time to see a dr.
