Could The Delayed Periods Be Due To Cyst On The Ovary?

I m not married and have sex with my boy friend one or twice in a month.i didnt get my periods from last two mnths,so i did a pregnancy test and it was negative.we went to the doc and in my ultrasound she found a cyst near my left ovary.she recommended medroxyprogestrone,so that i can get my periods.yestrdy i get my period and it was for one day and she adviced me to take Dronis 20 from the first day of my period and i just notice that its a birth control pill.Can u pls help as I am not married.What shall i do ?
