Could The Purple-black Raised Spot On My Tongue Be A Hematoma Or Something Else?

Yesterday at the dentist a purple to black spot on the top of my tongue was found. They thought it looked like a hematoma and recommended to see an oral surgeon. It is slightly raised, about 4mm diameter, appears smooth on top and is not sore. It is a little past 1/2 way back on the top of my tongue so I cannot bite that area of my tongue so I didn t know if it was likely to be a hematoma or something else
