Could The Shingles On Stomach Spread To Waist?

Can shingles go past the naval area when erupted on the side? I AM 75 YEARS of age, type 2 diabetic, and in good health. I have a rash on the left side of my waist which resembles shingles, but one eruption has gone past my belly button. Could this be shingles?
