Could Tingly Fingers With Severe Pain In Arm After Removal Of Implanon Mean Nerve Damage?

i had my implanon removed 4 days ago, at first dr could not locate it, 45 minutes 3 deep stitches and 2 surface stitches later it was out. Now i have severe pain down arm and tingly fingers, he has said possible swelling of nerve/muscle due to the deep cut to remove it, am in a sling for another 4 days hoping sewlling will subside. Is this something that happens often? could there actually be nerve damage? is it likely to get better after 4 days of not using arm? i am in so much pain at the moment and the tingly fingers are worrying me a little. thank you
