Could Vaginal Spotting Be The Symptom Of Pregnancy?

I am trying to get pregnant. Usually my period is extremely heavy the first day along with extreme cramps. I had some spotting yesterday and today a very light period with no cramps. Could I be pregnant? I don t want to get my hopes up and buy a test, since this is month 8 with no success...
