Could Weakness In Right Arm With Pain In Shoulder, Neck And Head Be Due To Aging?

I have had some discomfort and weekness in my right arm for months, now sometime my shoulder hurts and I get pains shooting up my neck to my head. Doctor took xray and told me it was due to aging but want me to go to physical therapy and come back. Will that do any good if it's really due to aging? Is there something I should be asking the doctor.
