Could Weight Gain Be The Side Effect Of Minerva?

Hi,

I started Minerva 35 two days before my period started, how long would it take to be effective?

It was also not prescribed by my doctor and I am now stressing about side effects, mainly weight gain and about the effectiveness of it as a contraceptive.

Is severe weight gain common and will this be an effective barrier for pregnancy?
