Dad Has A Catheter And He Thinks He Is Retraining

Dad has a catheter and he thinks he is retraining bladder by putting a clip on tube for hours! I am worried because no urine is coming out into bag. Yesterday he had some blood around penis but not today. And before he decided to try training I didn't see urine in bag. The day before it was very dark!

Is that normal?
