Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am caring for an elderly who has a VP shunt from last year hydrocephalus after a fall and sustained a brain injury from that fall.
This lady occasionally has headache that limits her function and we offer massage and stroking along the VP shunt on her head to relieve the pain. Is this effective and sometime we should do? I am afraid if we do this we might interrupt what the VP shunt is supposed to do (draining the CSF automatically and we are doing it manually too)
