Dear Sir, I Have Been Taking Medicine For High BP

Dear Sir,

I have been taking medicine for High BP around 12 years. 2 years back my family doctor suggested to stop medicine as the doctor studied me for nearly 2 years and told it is not necessary at present. During this Jan suddenly i had a BP 160/90. An ECG has been taken and the doctor suggested that everything is normal and while going out of station check your BP. Two weeks before when i went to chennai i felt sweating. I check with a local doctor where my BP was 180/118. I returned and checked with my usual doctor who told me to stop all medicines and check after 5 days. When I again went after 5 days and checked my BP it was 140/90. Doctor suggested not to take any medicines but however as I told him as i was taking BP medicine for 12 years there was psycological effect that suddenly i felt my BP is growing if I didn't take the medicine due to anxiety. Hence he gave metocard xl 50 mg for 15 days. this is the 3rd day which i took but i felt my legs are paining and feel drowsy. Can you pl suggest is this normal for this medicine and can I continue.
