Discharged from hospital May with new meds for resistant htn after being in emergency room with 230 over 110
Script called for 200 labetalol twice a day am and pm add 40 diovan and 05 Norvas in the am' Have been taking labetalol 200 with losartan 25 mg for 3 years- During that time had chills and sore throat from labetalol but it seemed to keep my blood pressure in normal range so I shrugged it off! Ended up with stroke like symptoms in the hospital such as facial dumbness dizziness and very high htn, Had a previous stroke 7 years ago, Tried following the script and experienced serious drops in bp such as 80 over 40. Also numbness in my face fingers and toes, shortness of breath and my heart beating in my ears, Finally after 2 weeks I got a hold of my general
Family doctor who told me he did not like the 90 point drops in bp, Try splitting labetalol divon am and labetalol pm This did not work. Now I have a urinary track infection and many sleepless nights due to side effects and
impaired daily function. Could labetalol be the culprit?
