Discomfort From Mid Thigh (left Leg) To Almost The Instep

Discomfort from mid thigh (left leg) to almost the instep for about 6-7 days; in the past 3 days the left foot and ankle are swelling and there is some pain involved in putting pressure on the leg (recently finished a course of Cipro, which I understand can cause muscle/tendon issues); will be seeing my GP soon, but any suggestions?
