Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Do I have DVT after banging my calf really hard during a workout?
I was excercising, kicked my right leg up high and brought it back down swift and hard right into my kneecap. This caused brief but excruciating pain. Afterwards there was a mild cramping sensation/slight tingliness that is sometimes just in my calf, but sometimes radiates from my foot to my lower thigh. Im really worried it might be dvt. Only other explanation I can think of is some kind of nerve damage. Problem is, im a bit of a hypochondriac and nearly every time i go get something checked out at the dr, it ends up being nothing. So i dont want to waste my time/money if ita not something to worry about. So my queation is...how likely is it that i smashed down my leg hard enough into my knee that i damaged a blood vessel which in turn lead to dvt??? Should i go to the dr
