Do Hives Usually Occur Soon After Eating The Culprit? I

Do hives usually occur soon after eating the culprit? I had eggs this evening and soon after I broke out in hives which turned into plate size welts. I did eat Strawberries yesterday and the day before. A few years back I got hives and didn't know what caused them and I had Strawberries the day before. I am also allergic to cranberry tablets. I'm thinking maybe an allergy to berries?
