Do Steroid Tablets For Pain Cause Loss Of Taste For Liquids?

I have been taking steroid pills over the last 6 days to stop the nerve inflammation caused by recent back surgery ( bulging disk,l3l4). the pills have ended the excruciating pain but my taste buds-especially around liquids ..water, milk, soda ...make everything taste bad. Is this a normal reaction?
