Doctor - I Get A Recurring Pain In My Big

Doctor - I get a recurring pain in my big toe (alternates between left and right foot)that lasts for several days. very painful and swollen. it usually happens about 2 times a year. I don't think its gout because I recently had a physical and my uric acid level was normal. Ant thoughts?
